Description - Cinderella Ending is an organization that is helps underprivileged and disabled teens, that would otherwise be unable, get access to prom dresses and suits. We work with dress shops and with apparel companies to have dresses, purses, shoes, and jewelry donated for these girls to use. Also, we have formed “relationships” with many party stores, and with different party halls and we hold proms for many hospitals for disabled children and teens. Our website has a catalog of our selection of dresses. We are also able to custom tailor them. Target Audience - We mostly work with underprivileged teens, and teenagers with mental and physical disabilities. We also try to recruit volunteers to help with events,and with “dress drives” so we can get dresses to girl’s. Volunteers also help to s pread our programs to schools, and to organize dress drives all around the country. Locally, we work with the Montgomery Academy, and Matheny Medical and Educational Center.
Cinderella Ending Goal - The goal of Cinderella Ending is to provide underprivileged teens, and teens with mental, and physical disabilities with a prom and/or dress that the teen will remember for the rest of their life. Cinderella Ending Background and History-Cinderella Ending was founded in 1993 by Charlotte Lenday. Her family was a little under the weather financially and her eldest daughter was unable to go to her senior prom. Mother and daughter formed an unstoppable team and Charlotte, and Jammie Lenday worked together and successfully formed Cinderella Ending. Cinderella Ending Success Stories- One young girl named Allison Janiele contacted Cinderella Ending saying she wanted to help put together a prom for her local hospital. We were first meet with Allison and she told us that her boyfriend got leukemia there senior year and was unable to attend his senior prom. We were able to host a prom at the hospital two months before her boyfriend died. He said it was “the best night of his life. I’m glad this was one of my final life experiences.” Cinderella Ending Future Projects-. Cinderella Ending is currently working on putting on a “dress drive” and prom at Matheny medical and Educational Center in NJ.
Cinderella Ending Volunteers- The volunteers of Cinderella Ending are students, parents, and medical professionals who volunteer their time to do a variety of things from helping run “dress drives” to helping watch over proms to make sure no one gets hurt. All volunteers are required to be CPR and First aid certified.
